Toolstation League Division One: Wellington 4, Weston St Johns 2

WELLINGTON had two men sent off as they had to plumb the very depths of their resources to earn a valuable home win over fourth-placed Weston St Johns at the Playing Field last Saturday.

Already forced to field a makeshift side with a catalogue of first-team regulars missing, they then lost John Norman through injury after 30 minutes and had both Shane Gage and Mark Hughes dismissed in the final quarter of the game for second bookable offences.

The Wellington scorers were Nick Woon (two, one penalty), Shane Gage and Nick Bowrah.

Meanwhile, Wellington Reserves drew 1-1 away to second-placed Beer Albion in the Devon and Exeter League’s Senior One with Jack Barnden scoring their goal.
