Hello All members This years Club Dinner & Awards evening has been brought forward and will be held on Saturday 22nd September at The Cleve Hotel in Wellington arriving at 6.30pm for a meal, music and dancing. Wellington Cricket Club is delighted to be able to announce that it has secured Club Mark Re-Accreditation from the England and Wales Cricket Board via Somerset Cricket Board for a second time following achieving the award initially in 2011 and then again in 2014 when a first re-accreditation cycle was undertaken… A lot of hard work has gone into achieving this award which confirms that the Club is and continues to be a place where all can enjoy and participate
Wellington U15s finished their season with a wash out when the weather intervened in their proposed final fixture at home to Taunton Deane. The team ended a tough season,2nd from bottom in the U15 11 a-side west division, but with a squad of only 5 or 6 the team has been made up with players from the U13 squad each week and in the same league as Taunton Deane, Taunton Vale, Taunton St Andrews and Staplegrove club chairman Mark Salter
Wellington U13s were destined for a top 4 finish in the 8 a-side West Division in the Taunton and District Youth league following Wiveliscombe’s inability to raise a side for the last fixture on Friday evening. Their haul of 19 points from 10 games,realising 6 victories and a cancellation was a good return bearing in mind the small squad from which they had to choose and the regular use of players from the U11 squad.
