Wellington Sunday XI 0-0 v Bagborough Sunday XI

Wellington Sunday XI looked to open up their Taunton and District Sunday League Division A account for this season with a game against West Somerset League club Bagborough last weekend, but a thunderstorm of immense proportions broke and rendered the game as a draw with Ben Evett and Jacob Hurry taking to the crease for Wellington having seen Macaulay Campbell win the toss and decide to bat first. Wellington 2nd XI have dropped to second in Division Six South of the Somerset League through a combination of thunder, lightening and torrential rain rendering their game with Taunton St Andrews 4th XI at Bishop Fox’s School as a draw last weekend as Alex Troake’s team took 15 points to be the same number behind Lydford who won at Long Sutton 2nd XI as they batted at a crazy rate to beat the advancing weather and did what they needed

Bridgwater 2nd XI 121-4 v Wellington

Wellington stay eighth in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier League after collecting eight points from this drawn game with Bridgwater 2nd XI at home last weekend as violent thunderstorms took hold of the game after 33.3 overs of the visitors innings; as a result the Red and Blacks are 37 points clear of Taunton St Andrews 2nd XI in ninth and are only 29 points off second placed Chard given the tight nature of the division

Wellington 3rd XI’s good run in the month came to an end at Chard last weekend, but Richard Henwood’s side still put in a good shift and came away with 13 points to be fifth in the Somerset League’s Division Seven Red at the halfway point.
