Staplegrove 2nd XI 177 Wellington 2nd XI 166

Wellington 2nd XI lost their unbeaten record in Division Six South of the Somerset League in the heat at Staplegrove last time out, but still collected a decent haul of eighteen points ahead of their big game with top boys Lydford at home this weekend. Thom Trott took charge of the Red and Blacks second string on the day in the absence of Alex Troake and saw the home side win the toss and have no hesitation in batting first.

Wellington 2nd XI 214-4 South Petherton 2nd XI 81

The balance of power in Division Six South of the Somerset League is back with Wellington 2nd XI after another good win last time out as Alex Troake’s side won by 133 runs at home to South Petherton 2nd XI and so collected another points maximum and with Lydford’s game at Taunton Deane 4th XI going down due to the weather the Red and Blacks second string are eight points clear and meet Lydford at home on Saturday 24th July

Taunton St Andrews 4th XI 80-3 v Wellington 2nd XI

Wellington 2nd XI have dropped to second in Division Six South of the Somerset League through a combination of thunder, lightening and torrential rain rendering their game with Taunton St Andrews 4th XI at Bishop Fox’s School as a draw last weekend as Alex Troake’s team took 15 points to be the same number behind Lydford who won at Long Sutton 2nd XI as they batted at a crazy rate to beat the advancing weather and did what they needed

Wellington 2nd XI 308-2 Taunton Deane 4th XI 129-7

Wellington 2nd XI ensured that they completed the first half of their season in Division Six South unbeaten and in top spot in the table with this overwhelming home win over Taunton Deane 4th XI last weekend. It was another personal triumph for Thom Trott who crafted a sensational 139no with three sixes once Alex Troake had won the toss and had decided to bat. Trott and Andy Hurry added 152 for the opening Red and Blacks second string wicket
