Our Golf Society

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

The Wellington Federation of Sports Club Golf Society was formed in 2002 and operates under the society guidelines laid down by the English Golf Union. We are registered society number 3211.

The society have three events each year, in Spring (Spring Salver Team Event), in Summer (Cottage Cup, always held at Oake Manor) and Autumn (Autumn Trophy, individual competition). The society make a donation to charity each year, representing a pound per point of the best player throughout the year.

Full results from recent seasons can be found at playsocietygolf.com.

Members of the subscribing federation clubs can join the society via the usual proposer and seconder at the society’s AGM (February). This is the only avenue for joining. To enter the team event, a club must have five competing members (currently cricket, football and rugby have reached this position).
