Wellington Sunday XI 225-4 Lynton and Lynmouth 81

Wellington Sunday XI completed the Club’s 2017 season with a trip to the Valley of the Rocks to take on Lynton and Lynmouth last weekend and came away from a pleasant day at this most picturesque venue with a 144 run win over the side that plays in the North Devon Sunday League’s third tier. Exmouth Sunday XI v Wellington Sunday XI

Wellington’s three league games the previous day were all curtailed by heavy rain from teatime onwards and this continued on through the evening and overnight and so saw local cricket was affected into Sunday too. Devon was perhaps hit harder than Somerset last weekend as their entire Premier League programme was washed out on the Saturday and so Wellington Sunday XI’s planned friendly match at Exmouth was called off on the Saturday evening.
