Third win on the trot
Toolstation League Division 1:
Oldland Abbotonians 2, Wellington 3
WELLINGTON moved three points clear at the top of the table thanks to a hard-earned victory away to Toolstation League newcomers Oldland Abbotonians last Saturday.
They went ahead after 24 minutes when Shane Kingston produced a clever flick to Craig Herrod, who fired home his fourth goal in three games.
Wellington consolidated their advantage with two goals in three minutes, Daniel Short rising to head home a Simon Ingram corner and then skipper Ingram curling home a free kick off keeper Lionel Fear.
There was still time before the half-time whistle for Crew to give Oldland a lifeline as he raced clear to lob keeper Stuart Wood.
The home side pulled another goal back with five minutes remaining as Wood was heavily challenged when collecting a corner and the ball ended up in the net with Wellington appealing in vain for a foul on the keeper.
Wellington: Stuart Wood, Andy Butler, Scott Holland, Daniel Short, Adam Manley, Craig Mawford, Simon Ingram, Danial Boere, Craig Herrod, Nick Woon, Shane Kingston. Substitutes, Jack Adams and Ali Pounde (used), Greg Blenkinsop (not used).
