Toolstation League premier division: Wellington 1, Street 2
WELLINGTON saw their eight-match unbeaten run ended by Street at the Playing Field yesterday.
The home side dominated the game from the kick-off during a frantic first half but the closest they came to scoring was a rasping drive from Jon Crowford, which cannoned back off the post.
Street took the lead ten minutes into the second half when Wellington failed to clear a corner and central defender Ben Amghar capitalised on the hesitation by shooting low into the net.
Wellington launched attack after attack in search of an equaliser but it was Street who virtually sealed the points with a second goal on the break eight minutes from time.
The ball was slipped through to James Bisgrove and he advanced on goal before coolly shooting past keeper Ryan Lewis.
To their credit, Wellington refused to lie down and they were awarded a penalty in the final minute for a foul on Stone.
Skipper Simon Ingram stepped up to score from the spot – despite a valiant attempt by the diving Webb – but it proved too late to alter the result.
Wellington: Ryan Lewis, Craig Mawford, Scott Holland, Daniel Short, Jack Adams, Jon Crowford, Simon Ingram, Andy Butler, Craig Herrod, Shane Kingston, Darren Stone. Substitutes, Andy Robertson, Sam Williams, Mark Thomson (all used).

Les Phillips Cup: Clevedon United 1, Wellington 2.
WELLINGTON scraped through to the last 16 of the Les Phillips Cup with a hard-earned victory over Clevedon United at a foggy Hand Stadium last night.
Leigh Robinson’s side extended their unbeaten run to eight games but had to come from behind to finally overcome their well-organised division one opponents.
Chances were few and far between in the first half but it was Clevedon, who took the lead after 18 minutes when Ryan King was released down the left and cut inside before scoring with a low shot.
Wellington, who were without leading scorer Shane Kingston, lacked their usual penetration, but improved as the game wore on and equalised on the hour.
Jack Adams and Craig Herrod linked up on the left to find skipper Simon Ingram, who carefully picked his spot to beat keeper Ben Dauncey.
The winner came ten minutes later when Clevedon failed to clear a Mawford corner and Darren Stone pounced to fire the loose ball into the net.
Clevedon threw men forward in an effort to take the game into extra time but Wellington held out for the victory.
Wellington: Ryan Lewis, Craig Mawford, Scott Holland, Daniel Short, Jack Adams, Jon Crowford, Simon Ingram, Andy Butler, Craig Herrod, Sam Williams, Darren Stone. Substitutes, Andy Robertson (used), Mark Thompson and Luke Desave (not used).

Toolstation League premier division: Radstock Town 4, Wellington 4.
IT was two points dropped rather than a point gained as Wellington were held at Radstock yesterday.
Wellington were never at the best and went 1-0 down after 12 minutes when a ball into the box came out to Clinton Wilson, who coolly chipped it into the net.
The visitors drew level on the half-hour as some trademark slick passing ended with Craig Herrod scoring with a shot across keeper Gary Stevens.
It was nip and tuck with Radstock regaining their lead after 43 minutes through a thumping Lee Bryant volley only for Wellington to equalise again just before the break as skipper Simon Ingram scored from a brilliantly executed free kick.
Five minutes into the second half, Wellington took the lead for the first time when Craig Mawford’s low cross was turned in by Sam Williams.
And when they increased their lead on the hour – Ingram scoring from the penalty spot after a needless foul on Darren Stone – they looked odds-on for another victory.
But Radstock could see a lifeline as James Billing was left in too much space to make it 4-2 with ten minutes remaining.

Toolstation League Premier Division: Wellington 7, Manor Farm 2
WELLINGTON extended their winning run as they thumped Manor Farm at the Playing Field yesterday to leap above the Bristol side into third place in the table.
Central defender Scott Holland glanced home a Simon Ingram free kick after ten minutes and, five minutes later, new signing Sam Williams scored his first when he turned home a Shane Kingston cross.
Although the visitors pulled a goal back through Luke Clarke ten minutes before the break, Wellington restored their two-goal advantage within a minute.
Stone was the provider with as his lightning run ended with a pull-back to Williams, who provided a clinical first-time finish.
Wellington demolished Manor Farm with three goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half.
Stone made it 4-1 only 90 seconds after the re-start with a fine individual effort and then Williams capitalised on a defensive mistake to complete his treble.
On the hour it was 6-1 as Kingston produced a quick turn and then a cheeky finish to leave keeper Lee Ballard flat-footed.
Manor Farm scored a consolation second goal three minutes from time when substitute James Stephens curled home a free kick.
But it was Wellington who had the final say as Kingston was scythed down in the box and skipper Ingram stepped up to calmly dispatch the resulting penalty.
Wellington: Ryan Lewis, Craig Mawford, Scott Holland, Daniel Short, Jack Adams, Darren Stone, Simon Ingram, Andy Butler, Craig Herrod, Shane Kingston, Sam Williams. Subs: Luke Desave (used), Mark Thompson and Wayne Hitchcott (not used).

Toolstation League premier division: Wellington 5, Welton Rovers 0.
WELLINGTON swept aside Welton Rovers at the Playing Field yesterday to score five goals for the second game running.
They went ahead after only four minutes when a scramble after a corner ended with Scott Holland, back in the side after a one-match ban, heading home over a crowd of players.
The home side’s second goal was untypical of their usual flowing build-up as it was purely route one, keeper Ryan Lewis sending a long clearance which was missed by his opposite number Tristan Westlake for Darren Stone to roll the ball into an empty net.
Skipper Simon Ingram, who pulled the strings in midfield, produced a moment of magic seven minutes later, curling a free-kick against the bar for leading scorer Shane Kingston to tuck away the rebound.
Although Welton started the second half brightly and forced Lewis – playing despite a groin injury – into a couple of smart saves, it was Wellington who increased their lead on the hour.
Westlake produced two saves in quick succession but, when the ball came back out to Ingram, he scored with a well-placed drive.
And it was Wellington, who had the final say, as Stone burst away on the right and drove in a low cross, which was thumped into the net by Kingston.
Wellington: Ryan Lewis, Mark Thompson, Scott Holland, Daniel Short, Jack Adams, Jon Crowford, Simon Ingram, Andy Butler, Craig Herrod, Shane Kingston, Darren Stone. Substitutes, Luke Desave (used), Craig Mawford and Wayne Hitchcott (not used).

Toolstation League premier division: Barnstaple Town 1, Wellington 5
WELLINGTON took their tally to 18 goals in their past four games as they completed the double over bottom club Barnstaple in North Devon last night.
Barnstaple never got a look in as the visitors dominated proceedings from the outset until taking their foot off the gas with the game well won.
Strikers Darren Stone and Shane Kingston shared a three-goal haul for the second successive game, Stone turning home a Kingston cross to open the scoring after 12 minutes.
Defender Craig Mawford set up the second in first-half injury time with a blistering run, which ended with him crossing for Kingston to apply the finishing touch.
And when Stone ran on to Mark Thompson’s pass to provide a thumping finish after 59 minutes, the game was dead and buried.
Skipper Simon Ingram drove home from ten yards out to make it 4-0 after 70 minutes and sub Luke Desave added the fifth in the closing minutes with a fine drive.
There was still time for Barnstaple’s Kevin Darch to score a consolation goal and Ingram see a shot crash back off the underside of the bar.
Wellington: Ryan Lewis, Craig Mawford, Daniel Short, Martin White, Jack Adams, Jon Crowford, Simon Ingram, Mark Thompson, Craig Herrod, Darren Stone, Shane Kingston. Substitutes, Andy Butler, Matt Francis and Luke Desave (all used).

Toolstation League premier division: Brislington 2, Wellington 3
WELLINGTON extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a victory at Brislington yesterday, which was far more emphatic than the final scoreline suggests.
Leigh Robinson’s side dominated the game throughout only for Brislington to score twice in the dying minutes before the final whistle blew.
It was an excellent all-round performance by Wellington with striker partners Shane Kingston and Darren Stone seeing their tireless work rewarded by sharing the goals.
They went ahead after only five minutes as some slick approach work ended with Jon Crowford crossing for Stone to net with a well-placed header.
And the visitors should have had the game wrapped up by half-time as they created a succession of chances.
Scott Holland, who impressed in his new midfield role, had a “goal” disallowed for offside after 18 minutes while Kingston was denied by a fine save from home keeper Nick Yeo and then, when he did beat Yeo, by a
defensive clearance.
It was 41 minutes before Brislington had a shot on goal, keeper Ryan Lewis getting down well to save from Adnan Hiroli.
And it was similar story after the break as Wellington’s slick passing, movement and sheer hard work saw them in total control.
Kingston and Stone linked up to create both the goals which gave them an unassailable lead.
First, after 57 minutes, Kingston produced a clever flick over a defender to play in Stone, who immediately found his partner to guide the ball home.
And then, with eight minutes remaining, skipper Simon Ingram sent away Stone, whose low shot under Yeo saw Kingston slide in to apply the finishing touch.
Stone was injured in the process and forced to limp off.
And that signalled a remarkable end to the game as Brislington’s Kye Mountford hooked home what should have been just a consolation goal in the 88th minute.
But the home side had clearly not read the script and scored again in injury time through sub Mark Chaffey’s
curling shot.
The late goals will have disappointed Wellington, who had looked so secure in defence with Daniel Short outstanding,
Wellington: Ryan Lewis, Craig Mawford, Andy Robertson, Daniel Short, Jack Adams, Jon Crowford, Simon Ingram, Scott Holland, Craig Herrod, Shane Kingston, Darren Stone. Substitutes, Mark Thompson and Luke Desave (used), Aaron Deeks (not used).
