Two points clear
Toolstation League division one: Wellington 4, Bridport 1.
WELLINGTON moved two points clear at the top of the table with their second 4-1 win in five days at the Playing Field on Wednesday.
Leigh Robinson’s side completely outplayed Bridport and the margin of their victory could have been even bigger.
advertisementThe Wellington line-up included new signing Danial Boere from Barnstaple, playing in midfield in place of the suspended Andy Butler.
And he turned in a fine performance, hitting the woodwork twice with shots before scoring a well deserved goal.
Another new signing, Ali Pounde from Taunton Blackbrook, came on up front for the last half-hour and also looked a useful acquisition.
Wellington, who lost defender Tim Legg with a foot injury early on, went ahead after 25 minutes when a cross by Adam Manley was headed home by Nick Woon.
And Woon was on target again five minutes before the break as he pounced to net after a Boere shot was deflected into his path.
Wellington went 3-0 after 52 minutes when skipper Simon Ingram scored from the penalty spot after a foul on Craig Herrod.
Boere drilled home the fourth from just outside the box with six minutes remaining before Bridport scored a late consolation goal by Matt Condliffe.
