Fine win at Chard
WELLINGTON continued their build-up for the new season with a confidence-boosting 3-1 away to Toolstation premier side Chard Town on Tuesday night.
Leigh Robinson’s side fell behind after only ten minutes when former Wellington striker Alexis Piper crashed a low cross past keeper Shaun Locke.
But they then got on top and only some fine goalkeeping prevented them leading by half-time.
Ironically, two keeping errors after the break allowed them to take the lead through Greg Blenkinsop (47 minutes) and Craig Mawford (72).
And they sealed victory five minutes from time with the best goal of the game, an exquisite shot on the turn from striker Nick Woon.
