Wellington Sunday XI 185-5 Taunton St Andrews Sunday XI 169

Wellington Sunday XI were involved in another close run game with their Taunton St Andrews counterparts last weekend in Division A of the Taunton and District Sunday League, but by coming out as 16 run winners and collecting 23 points too the Red and Blacks are less than twenty points off the top as the 2017 season promises a cracking finish.

On winning the toss Wellington opted to bat first and saw Kayden Hine with a capital 76 lead the way as his side pushed on from been 54-3 as 104 runs were added for the fourth wicket as Hine joined in with Rob Moysey who made a fine 55.

Ollie Beale and Macaulay Campbell added good late runs to push Wellington to 185-5 at tea.

Will Derrick blasted through the TSA top order to see that their score was 38-4 when he was done having taken 4-22 in seven fine overs of seam bowling.

Tyler Fyfe was good value wth the new ball too and Macaulay Campbell displayed his good form from the previous day too with 2-22 in six overs as Contreras with 19 joined his skipper Wadham and doubled the TSA score before Arron Campbell accepted one at over from his cousin.

Rob Moysey spun Wellington to a position where TSA were 134-9, but with Wadham having won the game for his side when they hosted back in June with a telling late innings knock he was on course to do so once more as he and last man Baldock added 35 last wicket runs to see that the game was going to go the wire once more; luckily for Wellington Moysey got the edge of Baldock’s bat and with 4-24 he had ended matters in favour of the home side with Wadham unbeaten on 48.
