Kingston is Vase hero

FA Carlsberg Vase: Penzance 1, Wellington 2

A STUNNING goal from striker Shane Kingston fired Wellington into the first round proper of the FA Carlsberg Vase in Cornwall yesterday.
A close-fought game was heading for extra time when Kingston struck in the 83rd minute.
He ran on to a ball over the top from Martin White and produced a sublime finish with the outside of his right foot to earn Wellington £900 in prizemoney.
Penzance are among the early pacesetters in the South West Peninsular League premier division and they gave their Toolstation premier opponents a run for their money.
Wellington went ahead after 16 minutes as Simon Ingram scored from the penalty spot after Kingston had been hauled down by keeper Sid Taylor.
But Penzance hit back to equalise with a stunning free kick from Jonny Ludlam.
Although Wellington held the upper hand after the interval, chances were few and far between until Kingston’s late winner to earn a home tie against premier rivals Barnstaple Town.
