Wellington 3rd XI took on Huish and Langport 2nd XI at Wellington Playing Field on Bank Holiday Monday in Division Seven South of the Somerset League in front of a good number of supporters as the fine weather continued and the team pulled to within eight points of Crewkerne 2nd XI in their efforts to seal another season at this level and the last game of the season – away to Long Sutton 2nd XI on Saturday 31st August –
Wellington 2nd XI scored a really good win on the road at Weston Super Mare 3rd XI over the Bank Holiday weekend as they came away with a four wicket win, 35 points and a chance of securing a finishing position in Division Five of the Somerset League that may see them survive at this level for 2020 given that the two divisions directly above them are light on teams through withdrawals and resignations.
