Wellington 2nd XI will feel that they have very nearly completed the job in terms of achieving promotion out of Division Six South of the Somerset League after they raced to victory at home to Broadway and Horton 2nd XI last weekend as Alex Troake’s team put the pedal to the metal to get the game done and dusted with before rain could intervene in their quest for victory and this proved to be a good call for the weather
Wellington were 60 runs short of their victory target last weekend at already relegated Taunton St Andrews 2nd XI in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier League as the Red and Blacks fell short in their run chase. Wellington 3rd XI should have seen this game, in Division Seven Red of the Somerset League, home last weekend when they entertained Taunton Deane CC’s fifth string at Sampford Arundel CC having fought back well with the ball and been given an opening partnership more than a hundred runs the Red and Blacks third string fell away to lose all their wickets for 52 runs.
