Wellington CC AGM Preview

The following text has been sent to the WWN for use in their edition dated Wednesday 23rd January 2013.

Wellington Cricket Club held its AGM for 2013 last evening (Tuesday) and would have made a series of important appointments ahead of a season that sees West of England Premier League cricket return to Courtland Road for the first time since 2002.

Club Secretary David Derrick spoke with the WWN ahead of the meeting – ‘The glow of all that was achieved in 2012 is still there, but we now have to package those achievements up and deliver for 2013 having achieved the level of cricket that we need to be playing as an absolute minimum for a Club of our size.

We await a new facility to be based in and that the work on Wellington Playing Field Pavilion has commenced is great news and this will enhance our operation no end.

The addition of our new Saturday 3rd XI adds a new rung to the Club’s operation and that means we will have nine teams on the field in 2013 across both senior and junior sections.

Those who wish to take on the jobs involved in running the Club are noted and the meeting will be the platform to work from in respect of appointing the next Management Committee and continuing to deliver in all areas of our operations’.
