Wellington Sunday XI 208-4 Bridgwater Sunday XI 175
Wellington Sunday XI won a second Taunton and District Sunday League Division A game for the season as they saw off their Bridgwater counterparts by 33 runs last weekend in a game that ebbed and flowed throughout.
On winning the toss and choosing to bat Wellington were given a good start by Ben Evett and Aks Latifi who added 95 opening wicket runs with Evett making a robust 35.
Latifi continued to a solid 65 and with Jack Beal striking 20 at 146-4 Wellington had around ten overs left to use and these were well used by Arron Campbell (40no) and Rob Moysey (23no) as the Red and Blacks totalled 208-4 in their 40 overs with Salt and Bellinger been the successful bowlers for Bridgwater, who play their 1st XI cricket two levels above Wellington in the WEPL pyramid.
Gilbert and Court made a decent start of their reply for the away side, but they were soon in trouble at 52-7 as Tom Shannon with 3-25 bowled sharply and with Rob Moysey starting his spell of leg spin well it could have been an early end to matters, but Sykes-Moore with an eventual 88 and Brewer with 31 added a fine 115 for the eighth Bridgwater wicket that provided much for Wellington to think on.
In the end Oli Beale with two wickets and Arron Campbell with the match winning dismissal calmed the nerves.
