Ilminster 4th XI 98 Wellington 2nd XI 99-1
By virtue of playing their final SCL Playing Bubble Eleven match ahead of the scheduled date Wellington 2nd XI is, at the time of writing, top of the pile and are there due to this fine nine wicket home win over Ilminster 4th XI on Bank Holiday Monday.
Ilminster, bottom of the pack and without a win thus far, chose to bat first on winning the toss and got away well despite losing Baker to a gully catch from Ryan Adams off of Ollie Hunt with the score on 15.
Goss with 20 and P.Sainsbury with 33 got llminster past the half century with some good play, but Tom Shannon got them both as he took 2-17 in six good overs.
Spin in the form of skipper Alex Troake with 3-17 in 6.4 overs, Connor Wickenden with 2-13 in seven overs with four consecutive maidens and Alex Derbridge with 1-15 in five overs packaged up the Ilminster innings nicely as a battling knock of 17no from their skipper Glover took his side to within an ace of three figures.
After losing a wicket with the score at six Andy Hurry and Des Campbell saw Wellington home with knocks of 46no and 35no and to full points.
