Wellington 83-3 North Petherton 84-2

Wellington have finished third in Division A of the Somerset Cricket Board’s Indoor League that is based at Somerset CCC after this three wicket defeat to new Champions North Petherton last Sunday evening.

On losing the toss the Red and Blacks were asked to bat first and found run scoring tough against an accurate Petherton attack as Briffett saw that Luke Desave was first out for Wellington with the score on seven.

Skipper Arron Campbell made it to retirement and has not been dismissed this indoor season as he made 26no on this occasion.

Two run outs gave Petherton their other wickets as they would need 84 to win after Will Derrick had made 10no late on for Wellington.

Wellington did have Petherton at 31-2 as Jack Beal took a caught and bowled effort off of the ceiling and Will Derrick effected a run out, but Williams with 27no and Bowditch with 22no saw their side over the line and to the title and it will be they, Bridgwater, North Perrott and Queen Camel who will vie for the chance to represent Somerset in the National Indoor Club Championship in the New Year.
