Wellington 2nd XI 145-9 Hardington and West Coker 146-3
Wellington 2nd XI suffered a defeat in Division Five of the Somerset League on the road at Hardington and West Coker last weekend collecting ten points in the process…
With the home side winning the toss it was Wellington who were asked to bat first and Trevor Brooks and Callum Hendy got the innings underway with a 14 run opening offering, but at 19-4 the situation was in favour of Hardington.
Sam Nelson, who is in good early season form, was the lynchpin of the innings with a carefully made 46 and two excellent offerings from new members to the Club in Will Weatherill with 29 and Sam Wooster with 14 later on took Wellington to 145-9 in their 45 overs.
George Coate and Gus Steele roared into action and had Hardington at 23-3 as they started well with the ball, but a steady 50no from Trapnell and a vibrant 63no from Parrott saw that the home side got over the line with no further losses as they took 34 points.
