Wembdon 108-4 Wellington 110-1

Wellington were in fine combined form in their opening Somerset Cricket Board Indoor League Division A game for the 2018-2019 season last weekend when they took on Wembdon and won by five wickets with 2.2 overs to spare.

Choosing to bat first Wembdon lost Bingham with the score on just one as Ryan Adams took a catch off of Will Derrick who took 1-22 in three good overs of seam.

Brockwell with 48 and E.Howes with 26 were Wembdon’s main run makers as Ryan Adams took 3-26 in his three overs to quell the Bridgwater based side’s ambitions of making, say, 120.

Ian Hewson and Arron Campbell did well with the ball too for Wellington as did Tyler Fyfe in the field and it was 109 to win for the Red and Blacks.

Arron Campbell and Luke Desave got 20 on the board for Wellington before Campbell was run out for eight.

Desave and Ryan Adams both got to the retirement score of 25 and this gave Wellington some back up as they could both come back to bat.

Ian Hewson and Will Derrick saw that they would complete the job themselves as they made 15no and 17no respectively and in good time too.

Wellington were opening day winners along with Bridgwater and North Petherton A and next play Bridgwater on Sunday 28th October at 2.45pm GMT…
