WEPL Somerset Division 2019 – Confirmed Composition
Following WEPL’s Board Meeting that was held on Tuesday 4th September the 1st XI’s elevation back to the Premier League level for 2019 was confirmed and will see that we will be playing in their Somerset Division as had been the case between 2013 and 2017 inclusive.
Due to the structural side of the work to set WEPL up for 2019 there will be no teams relegated into the Somerset Division from the Premier Two (Bristol and Somerset) Division, but three teams will be leaving the Somerset Division; North Perrott CC get what some may see as an overdue chance to have a crack at Premier Two action having won the Somerset Division in 2018 and Uphill Castle CC and Staplegrove CC are relegated to the Somerset League’s Premier Division as they filled the two relegation spots.
From the Somerset League’s Premier Division Taunton Deane 2 and Street are promoted as Champions and Runners Up respectively with the 1st XI in third place taking the final spot.
Next season’s WEPL Somerset Division looks like this
Bridgwater 2
Chard
Frome
Minehead
North Petherton
Street
Taunton Deane 2
