Wellington 2nd XI 110 Crewkerne 114-2

It is still tough going for Wellington 2nd XI in Division Four of the Somerset League as they lost on an emerald green strip at Crewkerne last weekend when losing the toss was not a good start.

Neither too was been 4-2 after just one over of their innings, but skipper Rob Moysey who batted well for 24 and Mark Salter who made a decent 34 got the score into the fifties before the former was out.

Oli Beale joined Salter and gave good support as did Tom Perry who made a good 18, but from 82-5 Wellington were all out for 110 with only Ryan Henwood with 13 making it to double figures.

Wallace with 4-22 and Callow with 3-12 bowled well for Crewkerne on a helpful surface.

Wellington had the home side at 10-2 as Ryan Henwood pulled off a good run out and Joe Horne got a wicket of his own, but Briggs with 37no and J.Gould with 40no put on more than one hundred runs for their side’s third wicket and so with it took the game away from Wellington’s second string.
