Wellington 124-5 Long Sutton B 110-4
With one game to go in their second indoor competition of the 2017-2018 season Wellington has every chance of success in Division B of the Somerset Cricket Board’s Crewkerne based event following this 15 run win over Long Sutton B last Sunday evening.
Wellington opted to bat first and saw two wickets had gone by the time the score had reached 15, but Oli Beale with 10 and Arron Campbell saw that the Red and Blacks score was approaching 40 before Beale was bowled by Vigar who, with 2-18 in three overs, was the pick of the Sutton attack.
With three fours and two sixes Campbell’s knock of 44 was the highlight of the Wellington effort with the bat as he worked well with Will Derrick who made 25no and this took Wellington to a decent score of 124-5 in their dozen over allocation.
Vigar now turned into Sutton’s best batter as he made 29no, but there was little other support for him as only Chislett with 10 made double figures; Will Derrick with 2-18 in three overs led the Wellington attack and was well supported by each of Jack Beal, Macaulay Campbell and Tyler Fyfe.
With one game left Wellington need to win and see where it takes them; Sunday 11th March is the date for that…
