Staplegrove Sunday XI 57 Wellington Sunday XI 58-0
Wellington Sunday XI made it a good weekend for the Club when it won by ten wickets against Staplegrove last weekend having despatched last season’s Somerset League champion club for just 57 in 27 overs.
Jake Nichol bowled well for a second Sunday running as he took 2-31 in eight good overs that saw him probe a good off stump line having corrected his early leg stump leaning.
Simon Rudd helped himself to a caught and bowled to see the back of Lawrence as the Taunton side did not get to grips with the low bounce.
Charlie Davies had a rare bowl, but his left arm spin was potent as he bowled J.Pantling for 14.
Arron Campbell and Robin Davies finished matters off with their off spin and left arm chinaman styles with 3-6 and 2-3 doing the trick for Wellington to see 58 would be needed to win.
Although the pitch was good to bowl on it was not easy to keep on and James Bath deserves credit for his efforts behind the stumps for Wellington.
Charlie Davies with 28no and Aks Latifi with 26no got Wellington over the line in 17.3 overs and this concluded a good weekend for the Red and Blacks.
