The awful weather that swamped the local area accounted for Wellington’s WEPL Somerset Division visit to Frome last weekend.

Rain all the way to the ground saw that prospects for play were not good and eventually the game was called off at around 2.45pm with both sides taking six points.

The same was the case in Division Eight South of the Somerset League when Wellington 3rd XI’s visit to Chard to play their third string was called off without the Red and Blacks team ever having to leave town – both sides took twelve points as a result.

Wellington 2nd XI would have been without a game anyway come rain or shine as Wincanton pulled out of their Somerset League Division Five game on the Friday evening citing a lack of numbers; as a result Wellington receive 35 points and Wincanton lose 30.
