It is confirmed that Ian Hewson is joining us from Bridgwater CC for the 2013 season. The following text has been sent to the WWN by way of announcing this news.

Wellington CC are pleased to be able to announce the sigining of medium paced swing bowler Ian Hewson from Bridgwater CC for the 2013 season.

Ian – who was Bridgwater’s 3rd XI captain last season and achieved two promotions in two seasons – is joining Wellington due to wishing to play closer to home and will make for a strengthening of the Red and Blacks bowling options.

Club Secretary David Derrick commented to the WWN this week – ‘Ian is joining us from a Club that is currently the strongest and most successful in Somerset, if not the whole WEPL region, and it shows the current strength of the Wellington brand that a player will move from Bridgwater to Wellington.

We are delighted to be able to welcome Ian to our Club and I am sure everyone will join me in wishing Ian every success for his debut season in Wellington colours.’
