Cricket Force 2011 – New patio area works

Each year the ECB and Natwest run an event called CricketForce aimed at rejuvenating cricketing facilities.

Wellington Cricket Club are taking part this year and over the weekend of April 8th-10th we are hoping to lay a patio area to the front of the pavilion.
We recently got our alcohol license amended to allow us to carry out the planned works to alter the pavilion to give more space inside, a more permanent bar and lay a patio area that we can drink on.

We are looking for volunteers to come down to the ground over the Cricket Force weekend and help out with the following tasks:

  • lift current path around pavilion
  • dig drainage channel to existing soakaway
  • lift turf from patio area
  • dig out topsoil to create flat patio
  • create step on ground side of patio
  • level with chippings and building sane
  • lay patio with suitable cement mix
  • infill drainage channel with hardcore and finish with 6″ grate
  • point slabs

As well as some general preparation of the pavilion/scorebox for the new season.

Anyone interested in helping out is welcome to come along, especially if you have spades or wheelbarrows or other tools that could be useful!

More information will follow, but please make a note of the date.
