Wellington 2nd XI 108 Street 2nd XI 109-6
Wellington 2nd XI are ninth in Division Five of the Somerset League after not developing a good position after losing two wickets at home to their Street counterparts last weekend.
Getting put into bat was not ideal, but at 72-2 with Oli Beale and Mark Salter both going well Wellington’s second string were in command, but the loss of Salter for 30 and with the score on 98 that of Beale for 40 saw the side fall away to be all out for 108 in 34.4 overs with Gus Steele’s 11 been the only other double figure score.
Wall with 4-14 in 8.4 overs did the damage for Street.
Wall and Miller added 51 first wicket runs for Street and they were half way there when Jake Nichol broke through, but Alex Troake’s 3-20 in seven good overs of leg spin ralled the home side as Street fell to 54-4 and the door was open perhaps, but Wall batted to the end for 48no and with Bradshaw’s 18 assisting him the visitors made it over the line despite Oli Beale’s two wicket burst.
