Taunton St Andrews U13 163-5 Wellington U13 38

Wellington U13s robbed of eight players due to holidays and unavailability had to field 2 x U11s and 3 x U10s, as they struggled against a team who they had run so close only 2 weeks earlier.

Kieran Hill, Ollie Squire and Max Popham, for the ‘Saints’, all retired on passing 30 and it wasn’t until young Oliver Hutchings joined the attack that the 1st wicket fell.

Thomas Gendall also stepping up from the U11 bowled with credit in returning figures of 1-17 from his 4 overs as did  skipper Oliver Hansard, although the pick was probably Ollie Williams who took 1-12 from his 3 overs as the hosts posted 163 – 5 from their allotted 20 overs.

This was always going to be an impossible task with such a young side, but Jacob Chambers spent time at the crease as did U10 wicket keeper / batsman Liam Buddin as they joint topped scored with 9 in a final total of 38.
