Hardington and West Coker 208 Wellington 2nd XI 164

Wellington 2nd XI just pulled up short at home to Hardington and West Coker in Division Five of the Somerset League and are so seventh as a result of the 18 points that they collected.

Choosing to bowl first on winning the toss Hardington and West Coker got to 69-3 with wickets going to each of Macaulay Cambell, Rob Moysey and Alex Troake.

Campbell’s analysis of 1-26 in nine overs, three of which were maidens, was a fine effort.

Troake captured another victim on his way to taking 2-36 in six overs.

Tom Perry, with 4-48 in nine overs, was good value for Wellington as they ended the Hardington and West Coker innings for 208 with three balls left as Aks Latifi’s off spinners were successful once more.

Hardington and West Coker’s innings was based on knocks of 60 from K.Pearse and 47 from Parrott.

Nathan Roberts was the bedrock of Wellington’s innings as he opened and made a well crafted 73 as he was seventh out at 151 as he once more played with patience and control.

21 from Rob Moysey and 20 from Sam Wooster took Wellington’s second string close, but they were dismissed with 4.2 overs left.
