Cranmore 249-7 Wellington 2nd XI 121
Wellington 2nd XI are 26 points shy of where they need to be after this Somerset League Division Five match at Cranmore last weekend that ended in defeat for the Red and Blacks second string.
At 69-4 Wellington were looking good with the ball as Jake Nichol with 2-14 had enjoyed success and with Nathan Roberts been economical too there was a chance to press on and dismiss the home side.
However a punishing stand of 148 for the fifth wicket between M.Pang with 101no and B.Angell with 53 saw the hosts score pass 200.
Wickets came the way of Aks Latifi and Oli Beale as Wellington would need 250 to win for the second week running.
Nathan Roberts with 13 and Oli Beale with a fine 40 started well, but from then on M.Pang with 3-25 in nine overs and A.Pang with 3-25 in 7.3 overs led the home bowling attack well as Macaulay Campbell’s 22no and 12 from Jake Nichol were the double figure offerings for Wellington with the bat.
