Wellington 2nd XI are still seeking an opening Somerset League Division Four win this season as Ilton completed the double over the Red and Blacks second string last weekend.
Getting put in and finding themselves at 17-2 was not the sort of start that was desired, but Aks Latifi with 22 got things going in the right direction until he was third out at 59.
Mark Bray played a superlative knock of 82 that was what bonded the Wellington innings as he played a fine hand as Ryan Adams with 13 and Ian Hewson with a most decent 30 not out saw that Wellington were all out inside 40 overs as Matravers with 4-23 led the Ilton bowling.
Wellington were guilty of shelling catches that would have aided them further as Gower with 54 and Price with 83no were the main reasons for the home side winning, but Ian Hewson, with 3-32 in nine overs, did all he could with the ball…
