Wellington Sunday XI 278-7 Ilton Sunday XI 88

Wellington Sunday XI made hay in very hot conditions at Somerset League Division Four club Ilton last weekend as everyone got a piece of the action in this 190 run win for the Red and Blacks.

Macaulay Campbell opted to bat first and chose to bat first and saw Des Campbell and Miles Cave add 56 opening wicket runs as Cave hit 32 in quick time before been well caught at fine leg as he eyed up a third maximum.

This was the time for Des Campbell and Oli Beale to add 108 for the third wicket as Campbell cracked 89 with seven sixes and Beale made a stylish 43.

Arron Campbell, in such good form with at this time, stroked a half century and with Tom Shannon and Alex Derbridge putting on 21 for the eighth wicket Wellington had scored well by the time tea was served; for Ilton Welch with 2-14 was their best bowler.

Charlie Burrough and Arron Campbell raced into the home batting line up with figures of 4-12 and 2-8 coming their way with Burrough taking a hat-trick as good catching from Macaulay Campbell, Miles Cave and Tyler Fyfe gave him a nice reward in his first game of the season.

Alex Derbridge bowled his off spin well once more and at 47-7 Ilton were in deep trouble, but A.Phillips with 29 and J.Phillips with 11 added a decent 34 runs before Tom Shannon and Ben Meek wrapped things up and with it a decent day for the side in front of a good number of spectators once more who enjoyed the weather and the game too.
