Fantasy Cricket 2017 – Week Eighteen (by Ian Hewson)
And the season has ended! A win for the 2s and losses for the 1s and 3s ends the season, though all three teams scored relatively well in terms of fantasy team points.
It has been a battle of the Sparks for the last month or so and in the end, Lewis comes out victorious by just 5 points. He also claims Manager of the Month for August/September.
The battle at the bottom was even closer. Luke Desave dragged himself off the bottom last week for the first time in two months – however, Mark Salter rallied and snuck back in to second bottom, leaving Desave as this year’s worst Manager.

Overall
Ending almost 200 points clear of second, Rob Moysey cruises his way to top player with a sterling finish to the season. The rest of the top 10 stays fairly similar; with Alex Sparks sneaking past Neil Hendy to secure a 10th placed finish.

Top 5 Batsmen
| 1 | M Bray | 190 |
| 2 | A Sparks | 125 |
| 3 | D Luxton | 120 |
| 4 | K Crout | 111 |
| 5 | R Moysey | 107 |
One bloke who really enjoyed playing in the seconds is Mark Bray, who averaged over 260 in the side (I won’t mention his first team average) to win the Top Batsman by some distance. Luxton and Sparks are in there after some consistent scoring and Crout comes in fourth thanks to be one of only two players to hit a ton (the other being Bray) while Moysey excellent efforts with the bat in the last couple of games sees him sneak into 5th.
Top 5 Bowlers
| 1 | R Moysey | 348 |
| 2 | L Desave | 195 |
| 3 | Ri Henwood | 168 |
| 4 | I Hewson | 159 |
| 5 | J Nichol | 153 |
Rob Moysey cruises to top spot by over 150 points thanks to his numerous 5+ wickets in the last few wickets, including wrapping up 5 playing for the 3s against some players who didn’t know what cricket was. The rest of the top 4 are rewarded for consistency across the season by regularly accruing 10-15 points per game with the odd big scorer.
Top 5 Fielders
| 1 | K Hine | 53 |
| 2 | Ar Campbell | 41 |
| 3 | B Evett | 40 |
| 4 | M Campbell | 37 |
| 5 | Ri Henwood | 36 |
Obviously this includes appearance points as well, but unsurprisingly Kayden Hine takes the top fielder, with his work behind the stumps being rewarded with consistent points scoring. The rest of the 4 are rewarded for their catching and run outs, while Ben Evett’s early season keeping in the 2s helps his scores be bulked up a bit.
