Wellington U15s 101–8 Bagborough U15s 92-8
Wellington U15s held their nerve to run out as nine run victors as they travelled to the picturesque Quantock village of Bagborough on Sunday morning in the Taunton and District Youth Cricket League 8 a-side Last Man Standing League.
Ollie Beale, captaining Wellington’s 1st stand alone team at this age group for many a year, was the mainstay with the bat striking 11 boundaries in his knock of 65.
Jacob Hurry and James Drohan were next highest scorers with 8 as they all but batted out their overs reaching 101.
Bagborough lost opener Rexworthy to a run out, but Glanville and Masters had the hosts well on course for victory as they reached 70 for 1 at the end of the 12th over.
Tom Shannon returned to the attack to remove them both in the same over which stemmed the runs and two wickets for Beale and one for Harvey Pierce turned the tide Wellington’s way, leaving Bagborough to find 11 runs in the last over.
Josh Cashmore stepped up and only conceded one run before bowling the last man with three balls remaining and a happy bunch of lads are looking forward to next week when they visit North Petherton.
