Wellington 2nd XI 110 Banwell and Churchill 114-1
Despite losing the top spot in Division Five of the Somerset League Wellington 2nd XI has two games in hand over new leaders Belvedere and they are the next visitors to Courtland Road for the team and they will be targeting this game as the big one so to speak.
This game was a case of not making the most of a good start as Trevor Brooks and Mark Salter had added 51 opening wicket runs in eleven overs making 23 and 28 respectively in good style too.
Newcomer Ryan Adams with 27 made a good start to his Wellington career, but this was the only other double figure score for the side.
Banwell – rolled over for 47 in the reverse match – did not have a bowler who ran the show, but Masters and J.Caddick were accurate in taking a couple of wickets each.
Only Ben Evett was successful with the ball as Carter, with a thumping knock of 80no, took the game away from Wellington and saw only six points come their way.
