Wellington Sunday XI were confronted with a powerful Bridgwater batting line up when they travelled to The Parks last weekend and despite a sterling effort by all who bowled the fact that the home side play in the Premier One division of the WEPL at both 1st and 2nd XI levels was there for all to see as they raced to their target at a rate of over seven runs per over. Street 2nd XI 214-5 Wellington 2nd XI 167-7

Wellington 2nd XI put in a much more heartening performance last weekend at home to Street 2nd XI in Division One of the Somerset League’s Reserves competition, and, although losing by 47 runs on the day, the showing was much more resilient than had been the case at Chard seven days earlier as the side collected thirteen points to stay ninth in the table. Purnells 243-9 Wellington 223-9

Wellington posted what was easily their best score of their Somerset League Division One season so far, but they fell short at Paulton last weekend when they ended up 20 runs short on a bakingly hot day and in the process took nineteen points to remain seventh in the table. Purnells won the toss and batted first and incisive breakthroughs came from Rowan Varkevisser and Thom Trott and they reduced the home side to 30-2, but the bowling then became ragged
