Spring 2012 Quarterly Meeting – Meeting Minutes

The minutes of the meeting held on Wednesday 4th April have been sent out both electronically and in hard copy where required.

An action plan arising from the meeting forms part of these minutes and progress reports are invited to be sent to David Derrick via e-mail.

Our next quarterly meeting is on Wednesday 4th July at Wellington Cricket Club starting at 8.00pm; agendas and details will be sent out in time.

Spring 2012 Quarterly Meeting – Wednesday 4th April at Wellington AFC

We have our first Quarterly meeting for 2012 on Wednesday 4th April at Wellington AFC starting at 8.00pm with the venue being open at 7.30pm; agendas have been sent out to all who need them and there will be a presentation from Tone Leisure as well as the usual mix of Federation and Club matters.

It is hoped that all Federation members can be represented at this meeting.

Anti Dog Signage – Wellington Playing Field

The publicity shoot for the new signage which is placed at each point of entry/exit at Wellington Playing Field in respect of the by-law prohibiting dogs entering the estate has been made and circulated to the local press.

Those present were Cllr Catherine Herbert who is Taunton Deane Borough Council’s Executive Councillor for Sports, Parks and Leisure, David Derrick who is the Secretary of WDSF and Lyn Partridge-Webber who is the Chair of WAG, together with Addy Bloodworth who is the Treasurer of WAG and her son Alfie who is a member of WAG.

Coverage of this event has been made to the local press and such will appear this week.

Publicity Shoot for Dog Signs at Wellington Playing Field

All stakeholders are meeting at Wellington Playing Field on Saturday 10th March at 10.00am to officially unveil the new dog control signage.

WDSF, WAG and TDBC will all be represented; look in the local press for coverage of this matter.

Anti Dog Signage at Wellington Playing Field

Our Anti Dog Signage is now in place at Wellington Playing Field – two of the three signs are in place (Football Ground entrance and Tennis Courts entrance) and will be the subject of a publicity campaign involving WDSF, WAG and TDBC.

One more sign is to be erected.

WDSF Spring 2012 Quarterly Meeting – Special Guest

We meet at Wellington Football Club on Wednesday 4th April at 8.00pm for our first quarterly meeting for 2012; we will be joined by special guest Keri Parr of Tone Leisure at this meeting who will be talking about her organisation and how it can benefit WDSF members in what is an Olympic year.

The Federation Executive will be addressing Wellington Town Council’s monthly meeting on Monday 5th March from 7.00pm

This platform will allow the Federation to discuss its role within Wellington in 2012 and for Councillors to pose questions and to see how both bodies can work together.

Wellington Weavers Running Club are the eleventh confirmed member of WDSF for 2012; they join ten other Clubs who are committed to championing sport in Wellington and delivering opportunity and development in this Olympic year.
