Using a multi agency approach WDSF with partners Wellington Action Group for Dogs and Taunton Deane Borough Council are to provide improved and more effective signage to enforce the bylaw that prohibits dogs from being walked on or in Wellington Playing Field.
Already TDBC has supplied one of their own signs for each of the three entry posts to WPF and soon signage bearing the logos of the three partner organisations will be in place.

This evening (Monday 5th December) representatives from the stakeholder Clubs involved in the development of Wellington Playing Field Pavilion and Wellington Recreation Ground Pavilion met at Wellington Cricket Club.
Our Architectural Adviser Steve Major talked those present through the plans he had prepared based on Club wishes and requirements as laid down by governing bodies and these were reviewed and commented on.
Steve will now take these points away and produce what will amount to a set of master plans that will be reviewed once more before been signed off by the stakeholder Clubs for Steve to take to the local authority for planning work to begin.
Steve is aiming to get the changes required done before Christmas and a further meeting at Wellington Cricket Club will be held in the early New Year ahead of the Federation’s 2012 AGM.

The Wellington and District Sports Federation and Wellington Action Group for Dogs have formally struck up a working relationship to campaign for responsible dog ownership in Wellington.
The Federation wishes to see the by law relating to the ban on dogs at Wellington Playing Field enforced and effective management of canines practiced on Wellington Recreation Ground, Wellington Rugby Club’s outfield estate and the Dobree Park site and by working with WAG feels that this can be achieved.
An initial meeting has been held this evening and an action plan has been made; notes will be sent out to the Executives of both bodies and this will be the start of the project.
Please contact David Derrick at david230275@googlemail.com for details.
