WDSF Small Grants Mechanism
Last night’s full Federation meeting agreed to adopt the proposal that where a member Club has a suitable project they can receive up to 25% cost coverage or £200 (whichever is the lesser amount) from Federation funds to support them in achieving the project’s aims.
Projects must be of a Capital Expenditure nature and not of the Revenue type and Federation funds must be complimentary to the main funding streams which must include some element of Club based funding too.
Projects that add to existing operational effectiveness are also welcomed as well as those of an emergency nature.
Any Club with a suitable project is asked to contact the Federation’s Secretary David Derrick with details in the first instance via e-mail at david230275@googlemail.com
All items received will first be evaluated by the Federation Executive and will then be referred to the full Federation membership for sign off leading to the release of funds.
So far, since November 2014, Wellington Football Club, Wellington Bowling Club and Wellington Cricket Club have each received financial assistance via this method which has now being formally adopted into the Federation’s Business Model having previously being a notional item on an ‘as and when’ basis; by formalising matters this will improve matters and show ‘best practice’ is in place.
