Somerset Cricket League Electronic Results Requirements 2010

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

The Club has been selected once more to pilot the Somerset Cricket League’s move to an electronic results base.

Developing last season’s on-line results input that saw the 1st XI’s results having to be entered into a specially designed screen now sees all results from all divisions having to be input  in three stages – the home side adding the result by midday on the day after the game, the away side verifying the result by midnight on the day after the game and a scorecard upload by the home side within three days of the match being played.

The whole ethos of this programme is to remove the requirement for paperwork to have to be submitted for each match played under the League’s auspices – the paper method is cumbersome and is open to failure, the electronic method still requires physical input from a Club, but is much less onerous than before and by being asked to trial the new system we can be well prepared to meet our responsibilities in this respect.

Community Amateur Sports Club Status

Friday, December 11th, 2009

The Club will be applying for Community Amateur Sports Club status for the 2010 season.

Application for and granting of this status will enable the Club to benefit from attractive tax based items from the Inland Revenue.

The Club’s rules need to be amended to take account of this and to move the application onwards.

Next month’s AGM is the place for these changes to be made.
