Wellington 2nd XI 62 Chard 2nd XI 66-2

Wellington 2nd XI suffered another big home defeat last weekend when league leaders Chard recorded an eight wicket win and with it consolidated their position at the top of the table and they are surely odds-on to win the Somerset League Reserves title for 2009 sooner rather than later. Wellington are left with work to do in their quest for safety in Division One of the Somerset League after this eight wicket defeat away to Westlands last weekend. The Red and Blacks were asked to bat first in a match played at Compton House CC as Westlands own ground was in use for another event and found run scoring hard against a tight opening spell from Boucher (0-28 in 12 overs) and Higgins (2-22 in 12 overs).
