Ashbrittle 97-4 – Wellington 98-3

Wellington continued their good start to the new indoor season with this three wicket that secured eighteen points for the Red and Blacks last Sunday afternoon.

Wellington bowled effectively with two changes to their attack from the last time out.Skipper Thom Trott bowled an exacting spell that cost only fifteen runs in three overs – his reward came when his father Bob held onto a great left-handed chance.
Marc Holloway too bowled a good spell as he cost only 22 runs in three overs.
Ashbrittle lost wickets regularly through their innings, but brothers Chris (52no) and Andy Hill (28) gave some respectability to their team’s final total.
Bob Trott’s off-spin cost just 24 runs and had a wicket rolled into it as well. Alex Sparks was pressed into action and did not do a bad job at all with the ball as did Sam Cook in the field.

Wellington lost a wicket in the second over, but Stuart Currall and Marc Holloway combined effectively with knocks of 31no and 28no respectively that just settled any jitters they may have had.
Both ran the ball around the arena effectively.

Two further wickets were lost, but Bob Trott used all his experience to guide his side home with a good knock of 15no that saw the winning single hit.
