Wellington Sunday XI 59-4 vs. Chard Sunday XI

Wellington’s first game of the new season was abandoned as a draw after only eleven overs last Sunday afternoon when the rain became too heavy to continue.Wellington had opted to bat in steady drizzle and suffered two losses by the time the score had reached 21 before Thom Trott and John Paine added 25 for the third wicket in good style bearing in mind the conditions.

Paine made it to 11 before falling victim to Cockerall. Trott made an excellent 27 before left-arm spinner Warren trapped him in front. In the end Gary Tillett with 2no and Kevin Crout with 4no were at the crease for Wellington when the decision was taken to call the game off.

The team hope for better weather when they take on Uphill Castle this Sunday (24th April) starting at 2.00pm.
