Members heard some exciting news in this respect when they met at Wellington Squash and Racketball Club on Tuesday 19th September in that the TDBC Sports Pitch Strategy work that WDSF is involved in is gathering pace with following recent productive meetings that WDSF Chairman Steve Coles has been attending as our representative.

Although the ‘final product’ is still some way off the planning and development work is underway and with the backing of both TDBC and WTC, Federation will be a real focal point for the delivery of a sports facility proposition that is fit for purpose and will benefit the current and future generations.

TDBC’s Scrutiny Committee sat on the same evening as our meeting was held on and with the final say on the adoption of the Strategy going before a meeting of the full Council on Wednesday 4th October.

It is once this formal adoption is made that we can really get to work and start to provide the sporting infrastructure that the town deserves and so desperately needs as we contemplate an ever-expanding population and need for sport and leisure to be high on the list of provisions for such.
