Second Planning and Development Meeting ref Wellington Playing Field and Wellington Recreation Ground

The working party in respect of this project will meet for a second time on Tuesday 22nd February from 7.00pm at Wellington Cricket Club.

All are welcome to attend however.

WDSF Spring Meeting 2011

Our next meeting as a Federation will be at Wellington Football Club on Wednesday 6th April from 7.45pm; paperwork for this meeting will be issued in March.

It is the decision of the Management Committee that the Federation’s business paperwork will now only be issued to fully paid up members; all Clubs who attended the AGM have received copy of the documentation relating to that meeting and to continue to receive such a fee of £20 is now required – details of how to join have been included in the AGM documentation pack as was sent out today (22.1.2011).

Thanks to all who attended and contributed to the Federation’s AGM on Tuesday 18th January at Wellington CC.

There is a consensus to move sport and leisure in the town forward and the Federation plans to be at the forefront of this movement.

Officers elected for 2011 were as follows

President – Duke of Wellington

Patrons – Martin Pipe CBE, Jeremy Browne MP, Cllr Andrew Govier

Chairman – Roger Nunn

Vice Chairman – Joe Conway

Secretary – David Derrick

Treasurer – Mrs Jane Browne

Auditor – Derrick Hodgson

The next coming together of the Federation will be at its Spring Meeting and this will take place at Wellington AFC on Wednesday 6th April from 7.45pm.

Wellington Squash and Racketball Club

Wellington Squash and Racketball Club are to join the WDSF site with a link to their own site.

The membership base for the new version of the Federation is growing steadily as we move towards next Tuesday’s AGM.

Clubs are encouraged to send their website address to David Derrick (david230275@googlemail.com) and it will be added to www.sportinwellington.co.uk

WDSF Honorary Posts

As part of the preparation for the Federation’s AGM on Tuesday 18th January at Wellington Cricket Club contact has been made with those who filled the honorary positions in respect of the Federation before asking them to continue for 2011.

Our President – the Duke of Wellington – has replied saying that he is delighted to stand in this post and champion race horse trainer Martin Pipe is to be a Patron once more.

Local MP Jeremy Browne will be continuing as a Patron too and Wellington Mayor Cllr Andrew Govier completes the set.
