Calling all Sports Clubs

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

All bona fide sports clubs in the Wellington area are encouraged to attend the Federation’s AGM on Tuesday 18th January.

This meeting will be held at the new Wellington Cricket Club Pavilion Bar that can be found in the Playing Field Pavilion just off Courtland Road (through the double gates in the Courtland Road Car Park).

Strength in numbers is critical to the success and potency of the Federation as 2011 comes closer.

The criteria for membership of the Federation is that it is open to fully fledged sports clubs from Wellington and the town’s accepted outlying district; no leagues, governing bodies or single teams are allowed.

The Duke of Wellington has been contacted asking him to continue in the role of Federation President as have the following local dignitaries - champion race horse owner Martin Pipe CBE, local Member of Parliament Jeremy Browne MP and our Town Mayor Cllr Andrew Govier.

It is very much hoped that they are able to continue in their respective roles.

New Version of Federation

Tuesday, December 28th, 2010

Following the meeting held at Wellington Squash Club on Tuesday 14th December the town’s Sports Federation has been relaunched.

With a new name (Wellington and District Sports Federation), a new vision and ideas to offer it is really hoped that 2011 will see the Federation restablish itself.
